Ramelton…..a well appointed country house in the rainforest replete with a fireplace in the living room, parrots in the trees, and rivers for bathing. Ramelton is 22 acres of pristine privacy - a place to relax and slowly immerse oneself in the Creole culture of Dominica. Eat the food, trek the trails, bathe in the river, watch the waterfall just inside the entrance to the property and generally have a peaceful place to use as a base for exploring the many facets of Dominica.

 The caretaker lives in his own cottage just inside the entrance to the property. He looks after the grounds, lights the fire in the evening, and has endless local knowledge to share about Dominica. There is always someone on the property while guests are in residence.

 The maid comes in 5 days a week from 8:00 until 2:00. The times are flexible so you can specify that she comes later if you want to sleep in. She does not cook, but will help with food preparation and do the dishes. She also does the laundry, makes the beds and all the usual things required.

  I would suggest that you have our recommended driver meet you at the airport and take you to Ramelton where you will be met by Alvin Knight, our property manager.   A nice way to start one’s holiday is to email our property manager, Alvin Knight, with a list of food and drink that you would like on hand for your arrival. This allows you to settle in to Ramelton without having to go to the supermarket in town on arrival. A rental car can be delivered directly to Ramelton. Visitor’s driving licenses are available at the airport from the immigration officer who checks you in. You will need to present a valid license from just about anywhere to get your visitors driving permit. 

 Our rates are as follows: 2 persons - 6 persons  $250.00 per day. We prefer a minimum of 7 days stay, but can accommodate stays of a few days space permitting. Longer stays can be negotiated at attractive rates. 

 Ramelton is the quintessential Dominica country house perched on the edge of the Layou Valley. The whole experience has been described as “naturally elegant.”
