Ahhhh, Ramelton

Perched on the edge of Dominica's Layou River Valley, Ramelton is the perfect place for independent travellers who appreciate both simplicity and style. At this mountain retreat, natural and elegant go hand in hand.

Twenty-two hillside acres provide pristine rainforest beauty and utter privacy. Trek the trails or peruse the panorama from the deck. Hummingbirds visit daily, hawks and parrots fly by, and the grounds produce fruit and flowers.  A short walk down the hill, a miniature waterfall spills into a pool that's perfect to relax in.

The house itself is beautifully appointed, yet totally relaxed. You would expect no less from interior designers who created a getaway here on old family land. Maybe it's the combination of wood, stone, colour, and magnificent views that makes the house so special.  Or it might be the surprising comfort of the fireplace. Even in the Caribbean, winter nights can be cool at this elevation!

With three bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms and plenty of open space, Ramelton is comfortable for couples, friends, or young families. It's also a fine retreat for writers, yoga practitioners, foodies, nudists, birdwatchers, photographers, or artists (no Jackson Pollocks, though!) and a great base from which to explore the island.

For added comfort and assistance, there is always someone on property while guests are in residence. .  . unless you want total solitude.
